The Emmett Machinists of Knoxville fell prey to strong Nashville willows and shaky defense in a 23-14 loss to the Maroons at Historic Ramsey House. Sending nine ballists across the plateau, the Maroons quickly proved their ability, plating 4 in the first Inning. The Machinists responded two-fold with 8 runs of their own. Nashville would not be deterred as the Maroons in turn answered with 5 runs in the next frame to reclaim the lead. The visitors would hold the Machinists without an ace for the next 4 Innings while striking for 9 runs during that time.
The final tally was 23-14 in favor of the Nashville Maroons, a hearty huzzah for those fine ballists from our capitol city.
The Emmett Machinists of Knoxville have accepted a berth into the Tennessee River Cup. The matches will be held on may the 7th at the 6th Cavalry museum in Ft. Oglethorpe, GA.
